La unidad 1 trata sobre tres metas fundamentales relacionadas con la evaluación en la educación para mejorar el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje.

1. What is Evaluation?
Is the compilation of information in order to support a reasonable judgment about an improvement or deterioration.

2. What is Assessment?
We identify the strengths and weaknesses. Erwin H. (1991) wrote that assessment is focused on measuring a performance in order to provide direction for improving future performances.
In education teachers use this concept to document what students can do.

3. What is the difference?
Assessment and Evaluations are two different concepts. Evaluations are designed to recopile the level of process that has been attained, but assessment, on the other hand, is focused on measuring a performance, work product, or skill in order to offer feedback on strengths and weaknesses and to provide direction for improving future performances.

4. What is Testing?
This is a process with different methods focused on determining the student's ability to accomplish a task or compile data about their knowledge.

5. What is Teaching?
Is the transmission of knowledge in order to learn something, do something or uderstand something.
The Great School Partership (2015) defines that teaching involves creating an environment and engaging with others, so that they learn particular things.

La meta 1.2 "Assessments and its types"
La segunda meta a realizar fue una presentación sobre los tipos de evaluación. En total son 5 tipos de evaluación:
- Evaluación Continua
- Evaluación Formal
- Evaluación Informal
- Evaluación Formativa
- Evaluación Sumativa
Cabe recalcar que también se presenta los dos tipos de educación: Sincrónica y Asincrónica.
Meta 1.3: Medición, Calificación y Valoración
Esta meta incluye conceptos, características y los tipos de medición (estimativa, numérica y descriptiva), de calificación (precisa y no precisa) y ejemplos.
